work website

sixteen years of my life has been spent working in a salon. hair expressions. everythings relative. coed. mark pardo. studio dna. modem. (clever names.) salons are still fascinating places to me, and i love my work. so many folks i meet tell me i dont look like a hairdresser. and well...im not at all bothered by that. so when my work asked for a new "professional" photo for the website i knew what they meant: one where i look like a hairdresser. lame. my resistance sunk in! but this i know- what you resist persists. so i found my cheesiest photo (not that all stylists look cheesy!) and sent it away for the world wide web. enjoy.

pork chops.

the farmers market is one of my favorite things about los angeles. i bought two pork chops that could feed 3 or 4 people for six dollars! the recipe that i used was delicious! in a pan heat a couple tbsp of butter and honey. brown 5 min each side. cook in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes remove the chops and add 1/4 cup water to the pan and stir until it makes a sauce to pour over the meat. SO easy and good!

its a small world.

today while my client and i were chatting we discovered that an old room mate of mine (chris mcdevitt) and her brother are best childhood friends. then i realized that i once went to a wedding with her brother. AND i had been to her house and met her family. WILD.

a gal and her horse

i like how women wore this hair. if you set your hair without heat and air dry it always comes out so soft and fluffy and perfectly in place. forever. this picture was sweet to me because the hair on the gal and the horse match. makes me want one! (a horse. not a gal.) i would braid her tail.
